The Newest Projects
These are the beginnings of my latest projects. They're all unfinished, but might give you a better idea of the details when I bring up a certain project later. Of course I'll post finished pictures when I'm done with them. :)
This first one is the beginnings of my kimono sweater. I included a picture of the book so you can see what it's going to look like eventually. My green is a little more spring green, a little less army green. And my sash is going to be sky blue, not pink. My favorite part is the [double seed stitch] detail on the sleeve cuffs, collar, and sash. You can see it at the bottom of my knitted sleeve [the green piece].
This is my newest scarf. I've been wanting to make a couple more, b/c I only have a crazy rainbow one, and a smoky blue one. This yarn caught my eye b/c it's got the turquiosy blue of my favorite shirt in it. It's a brand of yarn I like already, and usually they're only in pastels, but they had some new brighter colors and I couldn't resist. It's 100% cotton, so it's ~INCREDIBLY~ soft. I can't wait to wear it b/c it's so snuggly.
This yarn is also 100% cotton, but a different brand. It was quite a bit cheeper, so it's not quite as fluffy, but it's still going to make a soft scarf. This will be my girlie scarf. I think I might take pink and purple yarn left over from other projects to put with this one. Might try out a technique I read online. Might make it loopy and lacy. Lots of maybe's, lots of possibilities... that's what I love about knitting. I get to be totally creative.
This isn't knitting, but I had to include a picture. This is my first finished cushion. The off-white ones on each side of it will eventually also be chocolate brown. I'm planning to start my second cushion today. And the weekend is here, so we'll see how much I get done by next week :) I also sewed curtains for our front door that are chocolate with a khaki strip at the bottom... I had some left over from making the butt-cushions. I'm also planning to make some pillows that include all the fabrics I've used on this couch from the scraps.
